In Vännäs there are a large number of villages of varying sizes. Whether you want to live close to the rivers, your neighbors or want cultivation opportunities, you will find a vibrant countryside with committed village associations.
Brån
Brån is located along the Ume River and has Vännäsby as its nearest urban area. Brån has an active village hall association that organizes activities and dinners.
Hjåggsjöbygden
There is an association here that includes the villages of Mosjö, Nynäs, Mobäck, Håknäs, Bergnäs, Åkertjärn, Hjåggsjö, Kallhögen, Skavdal, Vinbäck, Tobacka, Nylandsnäs, Nyliden, Ockelsjö and Lybäck. The association continuously organizes activities and has a monthly dinner.
Jämteböleortens bygdegårdsförening
There are, among other things, two bathing areas and a bird tower where you can spot the bird life in Lake Jämteböle. There is also a village association in the village where the villages of Snålltjärn, Jämteböle and Järvdal.

Tväråbäck area
The Tväråbäck area consists of 21 villages with about 170 households. The village of Tväråbäck has about 50 households and is the hub of the district. In Tväråbäck you will find a municipal preschool, a youth centre run by volunteers and an association-owned "Byarnas Hus" with sports and assembly facilities.
Vännfors
Vännfors is a village in Vännäs municipality, located about 15 km from the town at the lower part of the Vindel River. Vännfors is divided into two parts, Vännfors and Västra Vännfors, which are located on either side of the river.
Beach and Mountains
Along the Ume River you will find the idyllic villages of Strand and Berg. When you arrive at Strand, you are welcomed by one of Sweden's longest birch avenues. The villages are surrounded by open landscapes with grazing cows and horses. Strand and Berg are two vibrant villages with many activities and villagers of all ages.
Stärkesmark
Stärkesmark is located in the northern part of the municipality, next to Lake Stärkesmark between the Vindel River and the Ume River. The village is surrounded by a hilly landscape with mountain peaks up to 272 meters above sea level. The buildings are divided into two parts, Östra and Västra Stärkesmark on either side of the lake. Stärkesmarksbyaförening usually organizes activities and a music festival during the summer.
Pengsjö
Pengsjö, the village between Lybäck and London, is one of the municipality's larger villages.
